REPETITION

Using the amazingly talented dancer Maura Naughton (part of the contemporary Chicago dance company Cocodaco) we explored the idea of growth through repetition. The video starts ambiguously, confusing the viewer of what they are even watching. As the video continues the viewer is clued in on the idea of repetitive dance movement through the dancer outline. This leads to the final phase of the video where repetition can move from growth to inner struggles. The Video shows the struggle that can take place in the mind, because of repetition. The piece is a projection work that can be cast on the side of any large building at night.

SMOKE

This exploratory video was taken from one of my own sculptures. Using only paper and flame I created a maze of layered paper each revealing a different part of each page. The concept of this sculpture was to create something while only using destruction. This video was taken to capture the audience's interaction with the piece.
